Air Cargo is the largest commercial owner and operator of Shorts aircraft in the world. Air Cargo is extremely unique in having its own flight training device in-house for pilot training. With its central maintenance facility in Milwaukee, Air Cargo has the equipment and tooling to perform all maintenance functions on the Shorts aircraft. An avionics shop and instrument shop are also located at the Milwaukee facility.

Business Situation

Air Cargo wanted to take their Operations and Safety Reporting to world class level. They wanted data analytics built into their safety reporting along with detailed reporting for corrective actions ensuring visibility to entire crew and management. Timely reporting of safety incidents meant that they are able to fix problems before they happen and are able to improve efficiency and scheduling and thus increasing bottom line.

Solution

Symphony Software worked with Air Cargo to understand their vision and plan along with a deeper understanding of the relationship between various data collection points and workflows. The collected information was documented in detail providing Air Cargo an opportunity to review their vision on paper.

The project was divided in two phases. The first phase accomplished creating detailed User Interfaces and User Experience and getting feedback from Air Cargo’s Director of Safety and other key members. The second phase included developing and testing of this interface.

We used Microsoft .Net Technology along with Microsoft SQL Server to develop a state of the art Web Based Application along with Swift for iOS application.

The solution was delivered to Air Cargo’s satisfaction and has put them in a position to serve their clients by utilizing their custom software application and save cost and improve operations
